As an additional comment, some may be curious as to the difference between the CVS tags OPENBSD_4_5_BASE & OPENBSD_4_5:
  • Once stabilized at the point where Theo, et. al. are satisfied with both stability, functionality, & quality, the code found at OPENBSD_4_5_BASE marks the file versions which constitute the official CD set. Once the CD images are pressed, no new files are checked into OPENBSD_4_5_BASE. This branch is to (always) represent what code was used for the CD's. Nothing more.
  • However, if fixes are later mandated for OpenBSD 4.5, those changes will be checked into the OPENBSD_4_5 branch. For those that follow -stable, this is the branch to track as stated in Section 5.3.3 of the FAQ:

    http://openbsd.org/faq/faq5.html#BldGetSrc

Note that new file versions could potentially be checked into the OPENBSD_4_5 up until the release of OpenBSD 4.6.
...and of course, HEAD represents the very latest file versions of OpenBSD which translates to -current. The developers live in the code here, not in the formalized versions. Consequently, all changes are made here unless they are deemed important enough to be retrofitted (with a modicum of testing...) into the OPENBSD_x_y branch.
