Default CVSup on FreeBSD

I've been following it as well, but with greater concern [2] (Freebsd not openbsd though). A web search of git-svn [1] turned up very complex guides, way too much to sit down and figure out how to put most use cases on a 4x6 card as now I supposedly could do with csup/cvsup to update the freebsd port tree. Similar complexity for svn by itself, though more complete instructions may be forthcoming.
[1] suggested by a post in the mailing list
[2] one other poster echoed my concerns which I've not detailed much yet, elsewhere.
IMHO this stuff (git / svn / cvs2svn / git-svn ) needs thorough documentation [3] somewhere
for those who are not well-versed it their usage [4]
[4] day-to-day
[3] for non-routine and user-friendly usages.
I've said as much in a post in a thread in the freebsd.org forums, but almost everyone reading it is proably to busy to do anything in the short term. I know I am...
