At one time I successfully installed an OpenBSD 4.5 guest in VirtualBox 3.0.4 on an OpenSolaris 2009.06 host. Prior to that I had various problems including segmentation faults. After I upgraded to VirtualBox 3.0.6, I again received errors I had previously seen and dropped VirtualBox altogether at that time.
If Sun ever decides to stablize VirtualBox and get it to work with supposedly "supported" operating systems I would go back to using it, however, they seem to continually add new "features" without addressing some old issues.
