pkg_add and company uses the files in /var/db/pkg. Opening the files in the relavent sub directory will usually turn up most things. If you use portupgrade, you will also have a database file in
BDB format, named something like pkgdb.db.
Could you be a little more specific about what you are looking far? :-).
