You are making the assumption that this is the only site where the NetBSD community comes to ask questions. It isn't.
In fact, you should look at the mailing lists archived on NetBSD's official site. Athough not all mailing lists see the activity of
netbsd-users@ or
port-i386@, the NetBSD community is indeed alive & quite vibrant. If I was a avid NetBSD user, I certainly would read those mailing lists daily.
