Default FBSD 8.1 install; no floppy, no optical

I'm running in circles right now trying to do a FBSD setup on the system that will become my home webserver. This is a "no frills", "ultra-slim desktop" system that I picked up on the cheap second hand. It has no optical drive (nor can I add one internally), and no floppy drive either. I picked up a 500gb IDE hard drive for it, which at this point has nothing on it.

I have a USB CD-R drive, but this system won't boot from it (there is a "boot from usb" option in the bios but it doesn't recognize the CD-R as bootable apparently). I do have the option to boot from a USB memory stick but I don't have one available at the moment.

So at this point I'm not sure what my best choice is for getting FBSD onto this system. I do have another system in the house running FBSD, so PXE booting might be an option - although I've never set up a PXE booting server before. I could go pick up another USB stick to set this up, which may be the most logical approach at this point even though I'd prefer not to throw more money into it today.

I was also wondering if perhaps I could put the new HD on the other FBSD system (it would be via USB, but I don't think that matters) and partition / format it there, and perhaps extract the FBSD image on to there?

Any ideas are appreciated. Any ideas that don't cost me any money are even better
