No, 2-core processors would have two CPUs (cpu0, cpu1) and would normally have a GENERIC.MP kernel stored as /bsd, and the uniprocessor GENERIC kernel stored as /bsd.sp.


Edited to add: the only systems that would store a GENERIC.MP kernel as /bsd.mp would be uniprocessors. These systems store GENERIC as /bsd, and have no kernel file stored as /bsd.sp.
