It's not an Apple Xserve. I also found this in dmesg
inteldrm0: gpu hung!
no reset function for chipset.
error: [drmpid24421:inteldrm_lastclose] *ERROR* failed to idle hardware: 5
it seems to be similar to the error reported here.
