Did you try with the amd64 version? No idea if that is why you only see 1.6GB, but that should at least make the full 8GB available, no?
Also, is that the fanless version? I'm working on a fanless i3 and a fanless i7 build this week, from the Broadwell-family of Intel NUCs, along with passive cases from Akasa.
