I do have the interface working in Linux (Fedora 13). It's a relatively recent addition to the Linux kernel, I believe.

I just don't get anything out of it in OpenBSD 4.7 or FreeBSD 8.1.

I did boot an OpenBSD 4.8 ISO, and it was the same - system sees alc0, but no lights and "no carrier."
