Ralph Giles and Matthew Gregan built Mozilla’s first Rust media parser.

It is the first component integrated in Firefox, written in Rust and shipped to all desktop platforms. Firefox 48 is a culmination of a long journey for Rust.

It means exerting pressure on Gnu/Linux distros and other FOSS operating systems shipping Firefox browser to Tier-1 support for Rust's toolchain.
