Default freebsd 6.0 system freeze: kernel(smp) problem?

Hey Guys

I've got a problem with my freebsd 6.0 maschine on a sun v40.

Sometimes (don't know, when and why) the system completly freezes and i have to reboot it.

the following lines are from the console log:

Code:
mpt0: Request 0xffffffff808592e0 Timed out.
mpt0: Request 0xffffffff8085b3c8 Timed out.
mpt0: Timedout requests already complete. Interrupts may not be functioning
mpt0: Request 0xffffffff8085ad08 Timed out.
bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting
bge1: watchdog timeout -- resetting
further i got a kernel with smp enabled, could that be the problem?
would an upgrade from freebsd 6.0 to 6.3 help anything?

Thanks,
nkiuuu
