There does seem to be a faulty USB drive or USB port, but this shouldn't interfere with normal system operation unless a system partition (i.e. /var/) is mounted on it.

Your hard reset was probably the cause though, files may have been lost.

One advice found through google:

So make sure /var/db/entropy/ exists, clean out the contents.
