I've never tried frostwire, but if you're willing to give another BT client a go, I highly recommend
net-p2p/transmission. It's easy to use, has few dependencies, and handles NAT traversal intelligently.
IIRC, the meta-port will allow you to select gtk2 or CLI version and configuration time.
