The FreeBSD port just gets them off the web.
You can find a bunch at the bottom of
this page which is probably the ones from FBSD ports. Just download the files and unpack them into ~/.mplayer/skins.
If you want all users to use them, mplayer does search in other areas for system wide skin files. On FreeBSD this is /usr/local/share/mplayer/skins -- I can't say about Solaris.
