You only need a WAN card if you are trying to replace the ADSL
modem. If you just need a router, then any old PC with standard NICs will work. The modem converts between the ADSL link via telephone cabe and standard ethernet.
If the ISP doesn't give you a modem with the ADSL link, I'd start looking for another ISP.
