Running dmesg | grep 'cpu.*SSE2' shows that both cores on here seem to support all sorts of stuff including SSE2 (output looks like "cpu0: FPU,...SSE2, ..."

What to do - suggestions please?
Are you sure that’s an error message? It’s part of the regular install notice:

$ pkg_info chromium
Information for inst:chromium-5.0.359.1p0

Comment:
Chromium browser

Description:
Chromium is an open-source browser project that aims
to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all
Internet users to experience the web.

Maintainer: Peter Valchev <pvalchev@openbsd.org>

WWW: http://sightly.net/peter/openbsd/chromium/

Install notice:
You may need to crank shared memory limits for chromium to work
properly under load:

# sysctl kern.shminfo.shmall=32768

And opening lots of tabs may necessitate higher fd limits,
crank that via ulimit/limits.

This package currently requires a CPU supporting SSE2.
You can check this with: dmesg | grep 'cpu.*SSE2'
