I could not agree more.
  • The FAQ is the closest thing you will find to an official "How To" on any subject.
  • The man pages are the definitive documentation on the OS. However, they are not tutorials.
  • Another excellent source of tutorial information is the OpenBSD Journal -- articles published there undergo editorial review, and were accurate at the time of publication.
  • The mailing lists and their archives are an excellent source of information; participation by (some of the) developers and the Project Director may be considered semi-official or official, respectively. However, posts by us users may contain misinformation, so you must consider what you read carefully.
Unofficial "How To" sources of information that you discover via Internet searches are often out of date, incomplete, or incorrect, and are frowned upon as sources of information. That includes this site; please consider any information you receive here as unofficial and possibly incorrect. Anything you read from me, especially.
