The FreeBSD project has published the third and possibly final release candidate for version 9.0 of its FreeBSD operating system. According to the mailing list announcement by Ken Smith, a member of the Release Engineering Team, FreeBSD 9.0 RC3 "should be the last of the test builds" and the developers hope to "begin the final release builds in about a week".
