The position of OpenBSD team was and still is that they have no interest in GSoC. If Google really wants to help OpenBSD they can either donate money directly to the OpenBSD foundation or directly pay a developer (I intensionally have not used word hired because Google can not force a project onto an OpenBSD developer) to work full time on the specific thing they already working on. There has been recently flurry of very interesting developments in OpenBSD and according to Theo with enough money they could commit 10-15 very, very cool things very quickly.

Like ability to use almost unlimited buffer cash on AMD64. Softraid crypto on the root which can be configured from the installer. Huge improvements in the speed of the file systems and disks writes. Huge improvements in network speed. Multiprocessor friendly PF. Kernel crypto which can use multiprocessors and so on ...

Oh yes, I forgot minor changes like removing Bind and replacing it with Unbound. Removing Sandmail and replacing it with OpenSMTPd.
