Personally, I only see a (potential) need for FreeBSD only.

Although there are people who attempt to squeeze every last byte out of OpenBSD such that it will run in 1K, the project isn't really geared (nor we here...) to supporting individual custom kernel tweaking efforts. In fact, the project's policy is to tell people that they are completely on their own.

And although it may be more common to use NetBSD in embedded environments, we didn't have the expertise to sustain such discussions here. If nothing else, look at the amount of NetBSD traffic we currently are experiencing now. If I actually saw such a question, I would redirect them to the NetBSD mailing lists with a clear conscience.

It is different in the FreeBSD world given that there are successful projects with sizable user bases which have customized FreeBSD to preconfigured desktop products. Since the other *BSD projects don't have similar efforts, creating such parallel subforae will likely cause two of them to remain quite dormant for a very (very) long time.

This only makes sense with FreeBSD.
