If it is Haswell, 4th Generation , it should work, but you'll be missing AES-NI. Shoot for the i5 instead.

If its Broadwell, the i3 gives you AES-NI, but inteldrm does not support the graphics yet, so you won't get graphics acceleration. Mine has to run Fedora because of that inconvenience.

Anything Intel after that will require binary blobs for graphics, IIRC.
