I have yet to figure out why some find the time it takes a machine to boot as some great measure of the OS. I really don't get this.

If you system boots in 5 seconds, but then once you login it take 30 seconds or 2 minutes to load drivers or start some deamon, doesn't that cancel the oh great 5 second boot.

I remember my TI-99 4/a boot almost instantly...then I had to spend minutes loading stuff. My Windows 7 machine boots pretty fast her at work, probably under 10 seconds...but then when I login it takes at least 1 minute to load drivers...

IDK...I'm just cantankerous I guess.
