Realisticly speaking, killing of Solaris in favour of RedHat Linux would be one of the dumbest idea in the history of the industry. Oracle has already spend 8 billion dollars in cash for SUN.
For what? For NetBeans and to try to kill off MySQL?

Of course they have to support Linux because that is what their customers want them to do but Solaris is in house product and should be always strongly favored to the other vendor OS.
I would go as far as to say that the same applies for Sparc.

I have not seen IBM trying to get rid of PowerPC and AIX even thought they support i386 crap and Linux.

Oracle is now equal to IBM and they have to think big.
