You should definitely try using a release that is supported, try reproducing your problem with the latest code available..
As for perceived limitations, OpenBSD has been and is used to handle links much faster than a 100Mbit connection, that isn't the problem.
The dmesg in your attachment is mangled, likely copied from a terminal, redirect output to a file to preserve lines properly.
