Although this is correct, it is better to force
mfaridi (or anyone else experimenting with building a kernel for the first time...) to stay with published & vetted instructions before improvising on a theme.
The point I have attempted to make for a very long time is that
most information which most people need can be found in the FAQ. Unfortunately, most don't take the time to study it as they should, & then come complaining here when life goes very bad.
