Many people look at the installer, see basic graphic-less text, and flinch.
As someone who used both the graphical Ubuntu and OpenSolaris installers recently, I can assure you that graphics != usability.
As OpenBSDFan666 said, all you need to do is read be patient, grab a cup of coffee and some cookies, and just read the text and follow instructions. It's very easy, and the new 4.6 installer made things even easier.
