The better question to answer is ask is how is the disk being used? Partitioning should follow usage.

At the same time, experience has taught me that allocating all space upfront may be handy, I have had longer term results by allocating only what is needed. Having unallocated space means that I can create one or several partitions later either in response to pressing needs or new needs.
