Post Formatting Hard Disk Drive to UFS in OS X 10.5

Hi,

I have a big, new, 1 Terabyte Western Digital External Hard Disk drive (with USB 2.0). I have Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.6) on my iMac. The external HDD is formatted to the MS-DOS/FAT32 file system. I want to format it to the Unix File System (UFS) or Fast File System (it's same) ... But it's seem's that Apple has dropped the choice to format to UFS in the Disk Utility v11.1 which comes with OS X Leopard. Is there other ways to format to Unix File System than the standard disk utility. I don't know about dd. They said, it have problems to format disks with more than 137 Gb's of size.

What can I do?
