As far as overbearing Christian influence on the constitution goes, I think a lot of it is blown out of proportion. Many of the authors were not Christians at all, despite strong faith in God, they did not care for the church as an establishment or other aspects of Christianity. Read some of Jefferson's writings on the subject especially...
