Now that's it's officially stable, can we, please, please, please, scrap it for something small, light, and configurable without knowing how to program? You know, maybe with a single, simple text file?

God what a royal pain in the arse GRUB2 (at least in the Debian-based distros) is to configure. It's nothing but a bunch of shell script snippets strewn about 75 gazillion different directories, without any documentation or methods to manipulate things from the CLI.

Booting FreeBSD systems is a breeze in comparison.
