The creation of the CVS tag for OpenBSD 5.5 was made over this past weekend
(OPENBSD_5_5_BASE), as can be seen in the CVS Web entry for
src/sys/arch/amd64/conf/GENERIC as an example:
http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvswe...4/conf/GENERIC
For those unfamiliar, this particular file defines the default configuration for the
amd64 kernel, & this CVS tag can be found on
all files used in building OpenBSD 5.5 for all platforms.
Why this is important to this particular thread is that OpenBSD 5.5 is nearing the end of the release engineering cycle before the official release. Only over the next few days will very important last minute fixes be made before deeming what is in CVS as being what will be officially released in May 2014. The official CD sets need to be manufactured ahead of time, so what is in CVS now is likely to be what will be pressed for soon-to-be availability & sale.
For anyone testing
(or wanting to test...) the images
jggimi mentions,
now is the time to voice any issues found, as OpenBSD 5.5 will soon be declared finished in CVS within days.
