Neither the install page, manual page, or website can contain a complete list of supported controllers.. almost all PCI IDE controllers comply with a basic specification and should work with pciide(4).

SATA typically emulates a PCI IDE controller for support with legacy systems, but you can typically enable AHCI in the BIOS.. which will be detected by ahci(4).

In this case, your disk will be sd(4) and not wd(4).
