Default Xorg freezes 7.0

Oh how I begin to hate this ...

I have a fresh install of FBSD 7.0 on a TravelMate 800 Laptop. The system is running fine after installation. Yesterday night I had some fun with the wireless lan and everything was ok. Installed fluxbox, made some settings. All fine.

This morning I came to the office, booted it, everything worked like a charme. Again some work on the WLAN stuff, meanwhile installed firefox and thunderbird, xscreensaver and two dockapps.

Then I had to restart the Xorg server and the laptop silently decides to make a boo boo! The system completely freezes. I installed all the packages which had been modified today, tried to change the drivers to vesa and back, no help.

I also cleaned up the /etc/X11 directory, made a fresh xorg.conf file with X -configure, nothing. I wish I could provide a logfile, but the server doesn't even write one. It just dies...

attached dmesg and pkg_info

*frustrated*
