Most SATA controllers are supported by OpenBSD, in either AHCI mode or in PCI IDE compatibility mode.

If your specific controller is not supported in 4.5 (..or 4.6 when it's released next month), then try a snapshot release from the nearest mirror.

SATA controllers a quite common now, but sometimes you'll need to toggle a setting in your BIOS.. other times you'll need to patch the AHCI driver to include your device.
