Development for the 5.5 beta period appears to winding down as the announcement of locking the ports tree was made earlier today:

For those new to OpenBSD, this practice is done to ensure stability of the package system prior to tagging the 5.5 release. What applications
(& versions...) are found today in snapshots are likely to be those found in the official 5.5 CD sets slated to be available 1 May 2014.
