Once in a while I visit Distrowatch.com to see what is new in the Linux world and noticed an announcement of Alpine Linux :

They have Xen virtualization, something I have not played with before, are lean, use
OpenRC init and have some interesting security enhancements.

Alpine Linux was designed with security in mind. The kernel is patched with grsecurity/PaX out of the box, and all userland binaries are compiled as Position Independent Executables (PIE) with stack smashing protection. These proactive security features prevent exploitation of entire classes of zero-day and other vulnerabilities.

Sounds interesting. Looks like I have something new to play with during this boring holiday season
