If the system does have a serial port, and you have a null-modem cable.. you can transfer files, but the rate at which you can do so will be quite slow.

You have several options, utilities are in base for SLIP and PPP, either can be used to establish a connection to another system running FreeBSD.. or another system entirely, it might be easier to obtain the packages and dependencies on another system and burn them to a new blank CD-R.
