well 4g of ram are not the most important thing, I will hardly ever need that much, but since they are there, it would be nice if they were available.
Before buying the laptop I was considering switching to freebsd, and I have tried to install it on my old box. And as when I did try in the past, I always get all kinds of errors during install, some package I want to install does not find dependencies etc. I am probably just not very expert in freebsd or not very lucky. I might try once more.
