This is true, but not quite the whole story...

I have a very similar card in one of my work laptops. It's configured according to dmesg, but even with the latest firmware it will not connect to any AP I've tried...even though "ifconfig bwi0 scan" returns a list of nearby AP's.

Granted, it's entirely possible that user error is at play here (I don't use wireless all that often, truth be told), but I don't know...I was pretty thorough in sticking to the man page and editing my AP's settings at home to see what changes were necessary to connect. Nothing worked.
