The reason is not funny at all, but I thought I would share it anyway ......
Code:
230- Welcome to ftp.fr.openbsd.org! 230- _____ 230- / \______ 230- | o | \____ 230- /\_____/ \___ 230- / \ 230- |_______/ \ 230- \______ _ ___ \ 230- /\_// / \ | 230- // //______/ /___/ 230- /\/\/\ \ / \ \ 230- _ _ \ \ \ \ 230- _ | |___ ____ _(_)___ \ \ \ \ 230- | || / -_) (_-< || | (_-< \ \ \ \ 230- \__/\___| /__/\_,_|_/__/ \ \ /\/\ 230- ___ _ _ ___ ___ _ _ ___ /\/\ 230- | _| | | . | . \| | | | __| 230- | |_| | | /| |_| | _| 230- |___|_|_|_|_|_\_\|___|_|___| 230- 230 Guest login ok, access restrictions apply.

I don't speak French, & I never heard of it until this thread - but as you say, Google comes up with an answer.

I was also rather flabbergasted about this! Although I don't really mind, because it gave me an opportunity to use the work 'flabbergasted' in a sentence. A word that I like! ('bewildered' is even better, but I think flabbergasted is more appropriate here).

Someone once asked Donald Knuth how he did find time to work on so many things. The reason was that Knuth does not watch TV. So maybe bsd-keith is the next Knuth
