To trust uBlock Origin?
Since recent update uBlock Origin in Firefox asks for 2 new permissions: computer name and IP address.
Info: version 1.25.0 permission request Dev's explanation - do you trust it? The question is: Can uBlock Origin be trusted? |

This is one permission, not two.
This permission is related to innovations in ads&tracking industry - see thread "'Unblockable' web trackers emerge". If you don't trust this extension then fine, uninstall it, but don't spread FUD without evidence. uBlock Origin is widely used open-source extension. Anyone can inspect its source code. Furthermore Any extension can be monitored in Firefox using black box approach: https://malwaretips.com/threads/mozi...80/post-847874

Where did I say I don't trust it?
I've got a pop-up in firefox, saying: Code:
uBlock Origin has been updated. (...) It requires your permission to: -Access IP address and hostname information Don't know what FUD is. |
