Default Can sound be networked over a VNC?

I'm curious about this. Even though both machines are beside each other, I'd like to hear the sound from the client. (That is from the OpenBSD P4 to the FreeBSD G3.)
If such can be done, then what steps do I need to take and which docs do I need to read?
