Default UPS - Tripp Lite with NUT or APC with apcupsd?

I need a battery backed power source with Automatic Voltage Regulation for a machine I've recently acquired. I had originally planned to run OpenBSD on this box but some file-system performance tests have changed my mind and I've decided to go with FreeBSD.

The UPS devices I am currently considering are the Tripp Lite SMART1300LCDT managed by the Network UPS Tools (NUT) OR the APC BR1300G Back-UPS XS LCD managed by apcupsd.

Any words of wisdom, recommendations, or war stories that might help me make a sound decision will be much appreciated!
