AFAIK PCBSD is a repackaged FreeBSD, if wireless works under PCBSD it should work under FreeBSD.
What do mean with 'gui network manager' ?

Really, I kinda wish people would stop making "distributions" like that... it's Linux-like in nature, all the other BSD derivatives maintain their own kernel and userlands.. PCBSD created a OS X (dmg) style (PBI) package format... that's about it |

I'm no fan of either PBIs or of PC-BSD, since I know the FreeBSD ropes very well. But to brush it off as unimportant is seriously shortsighted. (Last I checked, PC-BSD was a packaged version of FreeBSD, so everything that works on PC-BSD will work on FreeBSD, and vice versa. It is not a distribution.) |

There are a whole heap of annoying gui network mismanagers bundled with all sorts of systems.
I am happy to reassure you that you will find none of these monstrosities foisted upon you in FreeBSD. Networking is neatly handled by /etc/rc.conf and the ifconfig utility. If you really want one of these, seek psychiatric help. In the meantime, you may find something suitable in /usr/ports/net .
