It looks like your software build has a dependency on gettext. Try installing the gettext-runtime package.

Hello,
You can always disable NLS with
Code:
./configure --disable-nls

To me, it appears that your locale(1) is not set correctly. See the locale(1) man page for its discussion of LC_MESSAGES and of the /usr/local/share/nls and /usr/local/share/locale directories.

Other than installing dependecies, you only need to tell configure to pass the include and library locations to the compiler. You should be able to undo all your other fixes.

EDIT: You also need to tell it to use g++ to get multiplayer support.

Code:
 ./configure CXX=eg++ CPPFLAGS='-I/usr/include -I/usr/local/include' LDFLAGS='-L/usr/lib -L/usr/local/lib'

Ty jggimi, I look at the locale(1)

Code:
$ locale
LANG=
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_ALL=
I have install OpenBSD with fr keyboard, no problem to have english in menu but it is right I write in fr too in libreoffice for example. I have problem when I try "é à ù..." in ed for example. Maybe I have to set LANG to fr utf8?

TronDD your command worked for ./configure! Ty! Then I did make and then I did make install (with root), the game works and is playable.
So if someone wants to play 7kaa
1. Download game from https://7kfans.com/
2. use the cmd that TronDD gaves
3. make
4. make install (with root)
5. 7kaa

TronDD are you a gamer? Want you try make other games playable on OpenBSD? I can help as much as I can but I am not strong with computer.

Ty all!

Ripe, if you are trying to find some playable games on OpenBSD, there are different lists trying to enumerate them. First there is PlayOnBSD.

7kaa is listed there but there are no instructions on installing it. Maybe you can contact the website maintainer to add them?

Solène Rapenne also made a list, available here:

https://dataswamp.org/~solene/2020-0...sd-gaming.html

And in there you can find the link to her OpenBSD gaming video channel:

https://videos.pair2jeux.tube/c/openbsd_gaming/videos

However she stopped making new videos more than a year ago

Ty Onauk, yes this are nice websites! I know some of them. I would to add also
https://mrsatterly.com/openbsd_games.html
https://www.reddit.com/r/openbsd_gaming/new/
I contacted the owner of playonbsd by email (I think he is a developper of OpenBSD) and point install of 7kaa to this topic. I think also he is this man: https://www.reddit.com/user/thfrw/
and twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/thfrw
I hope she will make again videos, we need gamers and games on OpenBSD

I am what we call a "casual" player Unfortunately I play on Linux so I don't think I can contribute anything to these lists. Nowadays I mostly play minetest, astroneer and broforce. I'm also looking at trying FreeCol again since I have memories playing it as a kid.

Of these, Minetest and FreeCol seem to be playable on OpenBSD but I don't want to install OpenBSD on my home computer for this. Also I got rid of OpenBSD on my laptop yesterday to install Linux for Zwift (cycling training game, MS Windows only) with Wine so my home doesn't have any computer running OpenBSD anymore

I enjoy getting things working on OpenBSD but only when I have the time and motivation which are in short supply these days.
