Default daemonforums's font displays horribly in firefox

Is anyone else having issues with font quality when accessing this site using firefox on non-windows o/s (ubuntu 8.04, and opensolaris 2008.05)?

Other site's are ok. Some not so ok. But damonforums is especially ... challenging.

Suggestions?

/S

On FreeBSD I use the x11-fonts/webfonts port, and the daemonforums.org fonts look great in firefox.

On my NetBSD box the daemonforums.org fonts don't look very good at all. Italicized text in particular is somewhat difficult to read. (I haven't experimented with any extra fonts there yet.)

Me too, on both counts. webfonts is one of the first ports I install for this very reason when I bring up a new box.

Firefox on Archlinux and no problems here.

A tip for you is to specify your own fonts in Firefox and untick the check box "Allow sites to choose their own fonts", in the Content section of the preferences dialogue. This will allow you to use your favourite fonts for every site, including those that specify obscure and hard to read fonts.

Hello,

Slackware and Firefox - no problems.

In Edit -> Preferences, the Content Tab has the settings for fonts. Click on Advanced and have at it.

I tried firefox2, epiphany, and konqueror, all on FreeBSD

Konqueror looks fine.

firefox2 and epiphany look ugly, like xiphias already pointed out both browser allow you to specify your own fonts, which does look OK.

And as anomie already pointed out the fonts also looked much better after installing x11-fonts/webfonts.

To be clear, the unckecked suggestion fixed my font display issue. Nevertheless, here are the checked (poor font rendering) and unchecked (good font quality) screen shots, as attachments.
