Can we have a BBCODE tag to link to freebsd.org/ports much like the code we have for man pages ?
[port] or something ?

Hello, We could also have one for NetBSD packages. Perhaps even for OpenBSD, but I am too unfamiliar with that system to know if they have a ports collection. But, just like there are different bbcodes for the various manpages, there can be also for the various ports/packages.

I have thought of a few. Maybe similar ones for The Jargon file or wikipedia.
