How would you automate counting Iowa Democratic Party Caucus results?
Per the title: "How would you do this?"
I have some ideas but I am curious how you would approach this. PS Please don't turn this into a political flame war, just focus on how you would do this. PS2 In case you wonder what this is about: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ays-in-results

I currently feel that I would not go beyond something that just makes the physical tabulation faster. For example, Scantron or similar. There must be a physical record for each vote cast. I'm not clear that digital systems should ever be trusted for this activity.
Applications for digital activity could somehow supplement. For example, I be permitted to affix my own QR code to my ballot; ballots assigned random serial numbers and are publicly published; or similar. |
