Default X.org 7.6 supports udev and modularized configuration

From http://www.h-online.com/open/news/it...n-1157824.html

Quote:
The X.org developers have released version X11R7.6 of their graphics system, which contains the X Server version 1.9.3. One of the innovations in 7.6 is that it uses udev for hardware detection and hot-plug notification; a HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) is no longer required.
